What's that smell?
Smells Like Teen Spirit
If you could smell it with a French accent, it’d be erotic, provocative, sensual, and dirty (in a lacey French way). In plain English, it’s gross. Gross … but also genius.
Etat Libre D’Orange wants to rock the fragrance world with their liberal, subversive, and edgy fragrances, and rock the fragrance world they will … if they take it just a little step further.

The Fall (2006)
I'll tell you a story. Close your eyes.
Director Tarsem's last film was The Cell (2000), and The Fall bears all the trademarks of that previous film. The glorious cinematography, brilliant sets, gorgeous colors, fantasy and reality merging into one. I am very much looking forward to this film. I watched a bootlegged download a while back and The Fall is a magnificent film. This film deserves to be seen on the big screen and I can't wait for it. Tarsem is a brilliant director, and The Fall is no less than brilliant. For now, watch the trailer.

Don't give them money!
They will just waste it!
While waiting in the rather long line-up, I felt someone touch me on the shoulder. I turned around and saw a nice looking, I would say, well to-do couple behind me. Probably in their mid-thirties. I said "Hi." They said the same. Then the man said to me "We saw you give that woman a lot of money. She will just waste it!" I felt my body catch on fire. I was boiling.
In a loud voice, I said to them:
"That woman and people like her live on the streets. They live in dumpsters, cardboard boxes or in doorways. What the hell are they going to save their money for? That big screen TV that fits just on the right side of the dumpster? Or maybe get new furniture for the next doorway they move to? Hey, I know. They could spruce up their resume for an interview and go in their piss soaked clothes.
"They have nothing - no roof, no room, no nothing. I am glad they are wasting it. If I was in their shoes, you are fucking right I would waste it on alcohol and/or drugs. Beats sitting around smelling my piss. Are you going to help them get back on their feet? If your answer is no, then don't tell them or me that they can't waste the money given to them."
When I finished, the couple promptly left Starbucks without their coffee. Starbucks was hushed, and the barista gave me a free coffee. Which I gave to the homeless woman on my way out. Don't tell me I can't waste my coffee!

KMPlayer
Another good, if not better, video player
KM has an attractive appearance and its interface is very user friendly. This gets my attention quickly. I am not keen on players, video and/or audio, that require a lot of fiddling. I want my settings straightforward, and easy to set-up. KM does that for you. KM also supports a lot of video and audio formats. In the video department, there are DivX, XviD, Theora, WMV, MPEG-1, MPEG-2, MPEG-4, VP3, VP5, VP6, H263(+), H.264(AVC1), CYUY, ASV1/2 to name a few. In the audio, we have AC3, DTS, LPCM, MP2, MP3, Vorbis, AAC, WMA, ALAC and many more. Great stuff. No worries on finding any more players for that weird format.
Now, I have to say upfront that I do not use KMPlayer for audio purposes. But it definitely is becoming my video player of choice. Give it a go.

God Hates Fags
... therefore I abhorred them.
Since 1955, Westboro Baptist Church (WBC) has taken forth the precious from the vile, and is therefore as the mouth of God (Jer. 15:19). In 1991, WBC took her ministry to the streets, conducting over 34,000 peaceful demonstrations (to date) opposing the fag lifestyle of soul-damning, nation-destroying filth. In response, america bombed WBC. Now, God is america's enemy, dashing your soldiers to pieces.3,975 dead. 29,080 wounded.
America crossed the line on June 26, 2003, when the Supreme Court (the conscience of the nation) ruled that we must respect sodomy. WBC believes her gospel message to be this world's last hope.
Next picket schedule: 03/09/2008 2:15 PM - 3:00 PM Athens, GA
First United Methodist Church 327 Lumpkin St. This is for the funeral of Eve Carson. Although her death was reportedly described as "a random crime," we know that this is nothing less than the Wrath of God upon the children of Disobediance. You have taught your children to cater to every lust and false religous system and to reject the Word of God. It does not matter that she was the student body president of the University of North Carolina. What matters here is that God did not slay YOU today and you have an opportunity to repent of your crimes against God. However, this is nothing less than the Quarrel of the Covenant. Like Esau, you have sold your birthright, america, and chosen to live as a whore. You have been cast out with no blessings, and now you are irreversibly headed for Hell. Now, "Go and cry unto the gods which ye have chosen; let them deliver you in the time of your tribulation." (Judges 10:14) "I spake unto thee in thy prosperity; but thou saidst, I will not hear. This hath been thy manner from thy youth, that thou obeyedst not my voice. The wind shall eat up all thy pastors, and thy lovers shall go into captivity: surely then shalt thou be ashamed and confounded for all thy wickedness." (Jeremiah 22:21-22) America is Doomed. Amen.

Internet Explorer 8 Beta
How does it stack up?
The major improvement in IE8 is the speed. It is faster than IE7, quicker to open tabs and pages. I had IE7 on another computer and IE8 on mine. A friend and I opened the same web sites at the same time. IE8 was quicker in all cases. A vast improvement over IE7. IE users will love this.
The features were not extraordinary, but they were alright. I am not going to comment on those.
The problem with IE8 is that, with making the browser standards compliant, it has rendering glitches. My blog, The Zen of Steve, had header problems and I had to add to the HTML code to correct it. Or you could quickly correct it by having IE8 emulate IE7. There is an Emulate IE7 button on the toolbar that will correct these problems. Once clicked, restart the browser and all should be fine.
So, excellent speed, so-so features, and rendering problems. Good try, though. But I am still staying with Firefox.

Reactions to small dick!
Oh, cute. It's like a little button!
From a blonde who was chewing gum at the time..."So, I mean, is this it???"
"Yikes, Andrea said you were small but...wow!"
From another girl, holding it between her index finger and thumb, "Why don't you just use your hand."
I had just gone home with a girl who provided some 420 fun, "Wow...I hope you know how to eat this cooch!"
From a girl who gave me oral, "Well at least there's no chance I'll gag!"

Simply birolliant
The incredible 10ft 'photographs' drawn with a ballpoint pen
They may look like pin-sharp photographs - but these amazing pictures are actually drawings created with the humble ballpoint pen. The stunning pictures, measuring up to 10ft high, were drawn by a rising star of the art world, Juan Francisco Casas. Casas, 31, can use up to four 14p ballpoint pens for a canvas and his works are already a sell-out at exhibitions. Formerly a traditional painter, Juan began the drawings three years ago based on photographs of nights out with his friends.06:00 Posted in Art | Permalink | Comments (0) | Email this | Tags: ballpoint, pen, art, drawing, 10 feet, exhibitions, photos

The Niagara Falls Tunnel
Hide and Seek would be so much fun
completely inaccessible save by descending through a narrow slit in its ceiling thirty feet above the floor, and then returning up the same rope you came down. Now imagine that this tunnel flows into Niagara Falls, emerging behind the pummeling curtain of water that nearly everyone in North America journeys to see at some point in their lives.
This tunnel exists. In the autumn of 2004, thanks to the work of two people with the experience and equipment to make it happen, I had the chance to feel Niagara Falls.

Pentagon bans Google map-makers
Stop filming the military, Google
The move follows the discovery of images of the Fort Sam Houston army base in Texas on Google Maps.
A Google spokesman said that where the US military had expressed concerns, images had been removed.
Google has now been barred from filming and conducting detailed studies of bases, following the discovery of detailed, three-dimensional panoramas online - and in particular, views of the Texan base.

Mandatory Fitness Test For Officers
No doughnuts for the cops? What will they do?
Saying the current system of using cash to encourage cops to get fit doesn't work, Supt. Jody Weis said any requirements probably would be grandfathered in and nothing will likely happen for a year. He also knows he has to work with the union.
But paying cops cash to pass a physical is like paying a child to earn A's on a report card.

An Open Letter to Will Ferrell
You can be Bill Murray, Will. Don’t settle for Eddie Murphy.
Hi. It’s me. Daniel. Before I go any further, I’d like to offer my condolences over Semi-Pro. Everyone was predicting about $30 million for opening weekend, and you did about half that. These are record-low numbers, (for your standards), and that must be pretty tough for you. It probably even comes as a surprise. Being the arrogant, delusional man-child has always resulted in big numbers for you in the past, and I’m sure you thought Semi-Pro would just be another huge victory. And after all that promotion you did, with the Superbowl Ad, and the Sports Illustrated Spread, and the Old Spice stuff- you must be crushed.
I watched Semi-Pro yesterday. It wasn’t very good. I chuckled a few times, sure, there were some really great moments. I’ve always been a sucker for bears. A well-placed scream can often yield hilarious results, and you also have an amazing knack for picking out words that, somehow, are just inherently funny, (this time it was “pancakes.” You said “pancake” and I almost pissed myself.). In general, however, it was as weak as I’d expected it to be. Each movie of yours since Anchorman has been a derivative of Anchorman, and a poor one at that.

Clock's ticking on sex
7 to 13 minutes is the best
But Australian sex therapists commenting on the new research say most men Down Under wanted it to last considerably longer while most women were "not bothered" if it was over with fast.
The sex study is the first to review what the experts believe is the ideal length of time to have penetrative sex, with the random sample of Americans and Canadians labelling seven to 13 minutes most "desirable".

Will it leave you shaken and not stirred?

Forensic intelligence links an MI6 traitor to a bank account in Haiti where a case of mistaken identity introduces Bond to the beautiful but feisty Camille (Olga Kurylenko), a woman who has her own vendetta.
Camille leads Bond straight to Dominic Greene (Mathieu Amalric), a ruthless business man and major force within the mysterious organization. On a mission that leads him to Austria, Italy and South America, Bond discovers that Greene, conspiring to take total control of one of the world’s most important natural resources, is forging a deal with the exiled General Medrano (Joaquin Cosio). Using his associates in the organization, and manipulating his powerful contacts within the CIA and the British government, Greene promises to overthrow the existing regime in a Latin American country giving the General control of the country in exchange for a seemingly barren piece of land.
In a minefield of treachery, murder and deceit, Bond allies with old friends in a battle to uncover the truth. As he gets closer to finding the man responsible for the betrayal of Vesper, 007 must keep one step ahead of the CIA, the terrorists and even M, to unravel Greene’s sinister plan and stop his organization.
